Mason and Hamlin Factory Tour

A few months ago, I joined the Piano World Forums.  Not only is it fun and informative- it's free!  (Hint, hint!)  One of the really cool things about them is that they host get-togethers for members at times. One of the things they host in this area is a tour of the Mason and Hamlin piano factory in Haverhill, MA.  We went along on this year's tour.  It was an incredible day! 

 

The tour started in the morning- by the time we actually got going, I guess it was 10 or so.  It was led by Bruce Clark from M&H, and he did a fabulous job! Very informative and interesting.  We got to go right into the factory areas and watch the craftsmen/women at work from right beside them, in many cases.  We saw the way a Mason and Hamlin grand is built, from the piles of  maple boards right along to the finished, ready-to-ship piano.
